In the past year, I have clipped coupons, received manufacturer rebate checks and done just about anything a person can do to save money. The only place where I don’t cut corners is my sensitive skin.
Ever since I can remember, my skin has cracked and peeled in the cooler months. Now, before I became a stay-at-home mom, I had no problem buying brand name moisturizers. Sometimes I felt like a kid in a candy store when I went away with promotional items, even if I gave most of them to my little sister.
These days, frugality is key as my new family needs to eat and be healthy. A couple of years ago, I bought some lotion as a 2-for-1 deal at one of those large chain discount markets. I felt that it was a known brand and it said “For extra-dry skin” so I felt it was right up my alley.
Instead, I had to resort to using petroleum jelly after a few uses because of the excessive peeling. Then I had to deal with acne brought on by clogged pores. I could not wait for the cold to go away.
One friend that loves to use natural products told me about a company that does not use extracts, synthetic ingredients or anything else that is likely to cause a reaction. And the price is nice!
